Who We Are follows a three-part narrative arc — Departing, Arriving, Belonging — tracing the journeys of first-generation immigrants across Canada.
Filmed as a road trip through ten locations, from Vancouver to Yellowknife, Winnipeg, Nunavik, Gaspé and Prince Edward Island, the series weaves together personal stories, expert insights, and the lived experiences that shape Canada’s identity today.
Featuring 26 participants from 17 countries, alongside historians, sociologists, and immigration lawyers, the series explores why people leave, what they encounter upon arrival, and how they build a sense of home and belonging in a new land.
